The error is shown as below

The validation information class requested was invalid. (0x80070544).

To fix this issue, prefix the username with target system name. For example

truenas\backup_user

Location cannot be used

The error is shown as below

0x80070544: The specified network location cannot be used.

This is because no write access to the target folder.

Disable Windows Defender

Disable Windows Defender

Note: These steps are not effective, the problem is still there.

Disable service

  • Run services.msc
  • Change Startup type to Stop for service Windows Defender Antivirus Service

Disable scheduler

  • Run Task Scheduler
  • Go to Microsoft\Windows\Windows Defender
  • Disable all tasks (4 tasks)

Turn on Hibernate in Windows 11

In post Turn on Hibernate in Windows 10, describe how to turn on Hibernate in Windows 10.

In Windows 11, even click on Change settings that are currently unavailable, Hibernate option is still missing.

Enable command

Run following command in Administrator command line to show the Hibernate option

powercfg /h /type full

Upgrade Windows 10 to 11 Manually

One of my PCs wasn't prompted for Windows 11 upgrade, but upgrade check passed.

Download

Windows 11 Installation Assistant can be downloaded from https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows11.

Install

To trigger manual upgrade, need to download Installation Assistant.

Troubleshooting

Got error when first time ran Installation Assistant. Error code #800070079. Then reboot to fix the issue.

Add Preferred Languages

  • Go to Settings => Time & Language

  • Go to Language => Preferred languages

  • Click on Add a language to add Chinese

Add Keyboard (Input Method)

After language added in previous step

  • Go to Language options => Keyboards

  • Select Add a keyboard, then select input method to be added

Change locale (Default non-Unicode language)

After language added in first step

  • Click on Administrative language settings, then Region => Administrative window appears

  • Click on Change system locale..., Region Settings window appears

  • Select Chinese in Current system locale

  • Click on OK button
